National Government Sucks Day

The first ever National Government Sucks Day was held on November 7, 2009 in Hillsboro, Texas.  It was a blast being able to hang out all afternoon, in a relaxing atmosphere, with fellow Libertarians.  There was many great speakers that spoke (you can find out who they were by searching the title) but the highlight was the individual conversations with others trying to figure out how each other can help get the Libertarian Party get elected in the state of Texas.  Any further inquiries about the day, just get in contact with us.

All of the Above for Energy: Which includes 'Drill Baby Drill'

By this point in the debate we should all know the reason we do not have more drilling in the areas shown on the map.  The map is from Congressman Joe Barton (R) that he provided the public at a town hall meeting in August 2008.

The reason is that the environmentalist have been given such power through legistlation and judicial b.s.  The environmentalist have given us (the public) grossly over estimated views as facts for the last four decades about our impact on the earth.  Over the last four decades the enviromenatalist have been crying doomsday more than a old school Baptist preacher.  In the 70's, it was Nixon who created the EPA and therefore giving a beaucratic adminstration to environmentalist to occupy so they could see their environmental wet dreams come true.  Since then we have had OPEC take over and rape the oil industry, no new refineries because of regualtions due to legislation, no drilling in the areas shown above, and when you add this up you get high gas prices, loss of great paying jobs, and loss of security when it comes to energy.  That has put us in a place that we spend billions of much needed money on energy that we should not have to pay for.

What we need is the federal government getting out of the suppressing the oil industry and crafting 21st century piece of legistlation that will understand that.  Oil is a non-renewable resource and therefore we need to inovate a future energy source, but during that time we need to ease the burden on the citizens of this country.  Yes, oil compainies should pay for messing up the environment but not kept from drilling which would provide so much to the economy right now and would have littel impact on the environment.  This is also said after listening to the appearances of Lord Christopher Monckton and looking into his past.  With all of his accomplishments, we have faith that people like himself should take the lead on what kind of energy legislation would be effective for the environment and us.  This piece of legistation should not try and address which areas of future energy we should look into but it should open the market up to all ideas.  We believe that this will lead all kind of innovative ideas that can be tested to see the reliabilty.

We have to stop passing the problem down the road and take it upon ourselves to fix the problem.  When this problem is addressed correctly historians will write about us favorably but if we keep passing the ball the future historians will critizes us greatly.  If you have a idea that would be a potential personal energy sources (one which supports one's family alone) or ideas that would be able to provide energy for the masses then let us know via clicking on the 'contact' tab.
